Plain Sight Archive is dedicated to advancing a fully inclusive history of visual arts and culture by foregrounding narratives that highlight expansive representation in the arts, now and for the future.Our approach is always the same: identify who, find more, connect the dots. We prioritize identifying those who are currently unidentified and uncatalogued in the primary record. We then scour the resources for more information. Gathering and attending to these pieces expands the visible archive toward inclusive history. The result of our efforts need to be assembled into a form that is accessible to all. One of these ways is in the established form of telling history book publication. By participating in this production of history we are making these stories a formal part of the record. Our mission is to be a voice and an outlet for new stories that challenge tradition.
